The Manuscript Health Check is an AI-assisted diagnostic of up to 5,000 words. It is not a professional editorial assessment and does not say whether a book will be published or will sell. The Book Starting Plan is a starting point based on your answers. Any calculators or estimates are illustrative. We may change or pause free tools.
What you submit
You keep ownership of your manuscript, ideas and other work. By submitting it, you give Quill & Reed a limited permission to store and process it only to provide the tool or reply you asked for. That permission does not let us publish your work, use it in marketing, or claim it as ours.
Please only submit work you have the right to share.
Our content
The website, its guides, design and wording belong to Quill & Reed. You are welcome to read, share links to and quote short passages with credit. Please do not copy guides in bulk or republish them as your own.

Nothing on this site guarantees sales, reviews, rankings, bookshop stocking, awards or income. Publishing results depend on many things outside anyone’s control.
Paid services
Packages and specialist services are provided under a separate service agreement, which sets out what is included, payment, cancellation and your rights as a customer. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement applies to the service.
Liability and governing law
