We keep this simple. The website stores a small number of things in your browser so that it works properly. One optional item helps us see where enquiries come from, and it is only used if you allow it.

This is our current working draft, shared so you can see how we handle information today. It is awaiting legal review, and a few details, such as our registered business details and exact retention periods, are still being confirmed.

These items are set by Quill & Reed itself. None are shared with advertisers.

Essential

Essential items remember your choices and keep what you have typed if a page reloads. They do not need consent because the site needs them to do what you ask.

Optional measurement

Without your permission, we still count anonymous page and button events for the page you are on, but we store nothing on your device, so separate visits can’t be joined up. If you allow measurement, we also remember the page you first arrived on, the site that sent you and any campaign link, and keep a random visit number for the tab. That lets us see which guides lead people to tools or enquiries. We do not use a third-party analytics service. If we add one, we will update this page and ask again.

Server logs

Separately from your browser, our hosting provider keeps ordinary server and security logs. These are covered in our Privacy Policy.

Changing your choice

Use “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time. Turning measurement off clears the stored items straight away. You can also clear browser storage in your browser settings.
